Dry/Shrink Policy Reminder
With corn harvest underway, Farmward Cooperative wants to remind producers of our grain policies for contracted and uncontracted corn. Understanding moisture adjustments, Price Later (PL) terms and storage fees can help you plan ahead as you bring in your crop.
Here’s a quick overview of our corn harvest policy:
- Contracted corn and spot-priced corn: Shrunk and dried to 15% moisture.
- Price Later (PL) corn: Shrunk and dried to 14% moisture.
- PL corn sold within 10 trading days: Corn hauled in on PL will be re-shrunk to 15% moisture if sold within 10 trading days after the last day of continuous hauling. This includes cash sales, Minimum Price contracts and Basis Only contracts.
- Storage fees: There is no grace period for storage fees on PL corn. Fees begin accruing on the delivery date and are prorated daily at a rate of 6 cents per month.
We encourage producers to review the full grain policy to understand all applicable terms and conditions.
